With the amazing warm weather we’ve been enjoying in the UK lately, I got to thinking… who is nailing relaxed summer style from the world of celebrities and what can us mere mortals ‘steal’… sorry ‘learn’ from these cool summer fashionistas?
Black may be the very antithesis of what we consider laid back summer style, but you can still rock black all summer long… if you really want to! Just pick the right pieces and show some tanned skin and you’re all good! Add some aviators like Emily Ratajkowski to jack up the cool factor.
The queen of smart dressing does it again. Victoria Beckham shows off her summer style in this gorgeous bright yellow sleeveless jacket, which she is wearing over super smart black separates with black heels. Too smart? Team it with denim cut offs and flip flops – the jacket will still smarten it up just enough! Still not sure about yellow? Check out this blog on how to wear yellow with confidence.
No celebrity style list could ever be complete without the near perfect Amal Clooney. Her dress at the recent Royal Wedding was the highlight for me (sorry Meghan!) and here she knocks it out of the park in a beautiful floaty dress. Any length, style or colour of floaty dress just screams summer and casual style. Add heels for smart or flat sandals for a more laid back look.
Yep, the perennial summer colour, white is perfect for showing off a tan and reflecting light, making it the best option for staying cool. White denim, crisp white shirts, pretty white dresses (for day and evening) are all great and Lily Aldridge goes for an all white baggy look – even better for staying cool.
You know how I love an ‘edgy’ style statement and Behati Prinsloo (she’s a cool model – I had to look her up ?) makes it good and strong in this outfit. Prints are great for summer and if you don’t want to look twee, harden them up with a cool graphic ‘T’ and flats. Love it!
Of course, if they really wanted to totally nail it, they just need to add a Kathryn King Designs Wrap Bracelet to their outfits. We may not be celebrities, but we know that a wrap bracelet is the key to pulling together casual summer dressing.
Or if you’re ready to get ahead of the pack and pull together your own summer look, check out our range of summer-ready wrap bracelets now! After all, who knows how long this weather will last!
